Spanish I and Beginner's Spanish are creating a Guatemalan Barrilete to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. They have been researching and learning all about this Guatemalan custom. In Steam they are given a limited supplies list. Their challenge is to create a Barrilete that can fly for up to 30 seconds, contains a minimum of 3 colors and must contain a message from each member of the group about Hispanic Heritage month to fly up to the ancestors.

In Spanish II the students have been researching Hispanic individuals that have had a positive impact on the world. At the same time they were learning about the Mexican Luchadores and their importance to the Mexican culture. Instead of creating a traditional research paper, the students were tasked with turning their influential Hispanic individual into a Luchadore. The costuming, presentation, and symbolisms, all have to pertain to their research. In STEAM class the students are working on Tinkercad to create a symbol that best represents their Luchadore. These were printed on the 3D printers and used in their presentations. |
