Comet ZTF is currently visible in the night sky and may be seen through the first few days of February. You can see it now if you find a dark place with no city lights and have a pair of binoculars or telescope. It won't return again for another 50,000 years, if at all. That's how long it takes Comet ZTF to orbit the Sun, which means that Neanderthals still walked the Earth when it last whizzed by, during the last Ice Age.
