Our youngest Bulldogs were presented with a fun STEAM challenge this month:
The 3D Printed Blankner Bulldog has escaped the Steam Lab! He taunts the teachers and students as they chase him throughout the school.  
Run, Run You Move Like A Log. You Can't Catch Me I'm The Blankner Bulldog! The students all laugh and the teachers give chase. That is until the Blankner Bulldog finds himself at the end of a peer looking onto a very large lake! The Blankner Students decide to help. They have learned about civil engineers and they want to build the bulldog a bridge so he can cross the lake and escape.  
Our students study different bridge models with the VR goggles and are tasked with a challenge of building a bridge that is long enough to get across the lake and sturdy enough to hold the Blankner bulldog.

All students in first through fifth grade participated in the 'Brace Yourself' Biomedical engineering design Challenge. All our Bulldogs followed our SPIKE design process. Check out a few photos of the students celebrating their success!

Maker Faire Orlando is a non-profit, community-organized, family-friendly celebration featuring local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, hands-on-activities, and more. It’s an event where people show what they are making and share what they are learning. The individuals behind these exhibits are known as “Makers” and they range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
